WhatsApp Business MCP Server: What It Can and Can't Set Up
Meta announced on September 15 a WhatsApp Business Tools MCP server that connects AI coding agents such as Claude, Cursor, Codex, or ChatGPT directly to the WhatsApp Business Platform. Instead of moving between the Developer Console, Business Manager, and API docs, businesses can describe what they need in chat and have the agent create the account, verify the phone number, register Cloud API access, check the terms of service, build and edit message templates, and test webhooks. The server extends Meta's existing MCP lineup for ads and app configuration and arrived alongside its new AI-focused subscription plans.

M4 Mac mini Linux GPU driver: OpenGL ES 3.0 in one month
Cody Ho and Niklas say they built a fully OpenGL ES 3.0 compliant GPU driver for the M4 Mac mini and MacBook Neo in about a month, a process that normally takes years: Chrome and Firefox run WebGL with working compositing and Minecraft reaches 200fps. The work reverse-engineered Apple's AGX GPU firmware ABI and user space in a verifiably clean-room way, using hardware traces from a hypervisor and an LLM coding agent, Codex, as a tireless lab assistant that replayed firmware state until the driver could build it from source. The driver is not yet end-user ready, but all experiments are published in the agx-re repositories, and the r/linux thread debating the AI-assisted clean-room claims and the credit due to the Asahi Linux pioneers is already live.

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini: the AI you pay for keeps changing
AI subscriptions sell an artifact and deliver a service: the vendor keeps control of which model answers, how much of it you get, and how it is served, so quality can change after you subscribe without anything being announced. The four failure modes: silent model retirement, allowance erosion at a constant price, identical weights scoring differently by provider, and retention rules changing under your data, plus what to watch instead of release notes.

HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY
Simon Willison's commit-rewriter Cleans Agent Cruft From Git
commit-rewriter 0.1 is a new Python web app that bulk-edits commit messages and rewrites every commit from the first one edited, built because Datasette's security release commits were full of coding agent cruft and references to private issue IDs. The release is the signal: AI-assisted commit history now needs a hygiene pass before it goes public.
