Family background may explain much of the mental health gap tied to sexual orientation, twin studies suggest
Gay, lesbian, and bisexual people report worse mental health on average than heterosexual people. But when they’re compared with their own heterosexual siblings and twins, much of that gap shrinks, a new meta-analysis of 17 studies finds.
